A 25-year-old man was found shot to death early Tuesday and another was shot in the hand near a north Minneapolis intersection, authorities said.

The man's body was found in the street near Sheridan and 8th Avenues N. about 5 a.m., police said.

There is no word yet on what led to the shootings, and no arrests have been made.

A 22-year-old man told police that he was shot in the hand about that time while he was near the same intersection, according to police records.

Minneapolis police Sgt. Stephen McCarty said the person shot in the hand is "possibly involved" with the man who was killed, "but we can't say that definitively."

Officers were called to the scene after a witness heard shots in the moments before the body was found, McCarty said.

Authorities have yet to release the identities of either victim. Police are urging anyone with information to call investigators at 612-692-8477.
