SundayAs if zombies weren't enough to fear. Veteran tough guy David Morrissey joins the cast of "The Walking Dead" (8 p.m., AMC) as a character simply known as "The Governor." Something tells me he's up to more than just sleeping with the nanny.

MondayPaula Abdul is back in the judging business -- at least for one night. The former "American Idol" and "X Factor" personality joins the panel at "Dancing With the Stars: The All Stars" (7 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5). Extra points for both Abdul and the show if she re-creates that striptease from her "Crazy Cool" video.

Tuesday"Emily Owens, M.D." (8 p.m., WUCW, Ch. 23) is more or less a reboot of "Grey's Anatomy" featuring young doctors in love and turmoil. So what makes it so special? A dazzling performance by Mamie Gummer, formerly known as Meryl Streep's daughter. Her klutzy, cute turn in the title role challenges Zooey Deschanel as the queen of "adorkable."

WednesdayEmmy winner Jessica Lange returns for a second season of "American Horror Story" (9 p.m., FX), except this time she appears to be a sadistic nun. Others in this retooling of a fright factory include James Cromwell, Chloe Sevigny, Sarah Paulson and Zachary Quinto.

ThursdayThe reclusive Ethel Kennedy has largely stayed away from cameras since the death of her husband, Robert Kennedy, but it's hard to say no to family. Daughter Rory Kennedy profiles her modest, quick-witted mother in "Ethel" (8 p.m., HBO), a revealing and often touching love letter.
