The Vikings were without four starters at today's practice at Winter Park.
Most notably, running back Adrian Peterson sat out the afternoon practice as he continues dealing with tenderness in his left ankle. Peterson tweaked the ankle in the first quarter Sunday against Tennessee.
Receiver Jerome Simpson also didn't practice Wednesday, still dealing with a back issue that has caused him to have numbness and weakness in his leg. Simpson's injury is not serious and he could return to practice as early as Thursday and should be in line to play by Sunday.
The other starters to miss Wednesday's practice were defensive tackle Kevin Williams, who was dealing with an illness; and safety Mistral Raymond, who has been out since Week 3 with a dislocated ankle.
Limited for the Vikings were Antoine Winfield (knee), Charlie Johnson (low back), Marvin Mitchell (calf) and Andrew Sendejo (ankle).
In Washington, quarterback Robert Griffin III was a limited participant as he works back from the concussion he suffered against Atlanta on Sunday.
