The Twin Cities Film Fest will host Justin Long Saturday Oct. 20 for the screening of his comedy-drama “Lumpy.” Long ("Drag Me to Hell," "Live Free or Die Hard" and endless Apple Mac commercials) plays a bridegroom whose wedding is thrown into turmoil when his hard-living best man drops dead. The newlyweds cancel their honeymoon and head to Minneapolis to arrange his funeral, but slowly they discover that perhaps they didn’t know Lumpy as well as they thought. The Minnesota-shot feature costars Jess Weixler (“The Normals”), Tyler Labine (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”) and Shelley Long (of TV’s “Cheers.”) It’s the first feature for writer/director Ted Koland, a Minneapolis native with extensive TV writing credits.
“We're thrilled and honored to host Justin,” said TCFF head Jatin Setia. “He's one of the most entertaining actors working today, and his more serious turn in 'Lumpy' represents the best work of his career, but because he filmed the majority of his performance right here in Minnesota. It is a brilliant example of why more productions should call this state their home base.”
