A fire in northern Minnesota that has charred more than 38 square miles is about 30 percent contained, according to the state Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

The North Minnie fire is the largest of several in northern Minnesota and is not expected to be contained until the end of the month, the DNR said.

The fire, which started about a week ago, is about 5 miles northeast of the Fourtown area, near Red Lake and Beltrami Island State Forest.
