A draft of the environmental impacts of the Southwest Light Rail Transit will be released Friday. That will start a process for residents and other members of the public to give their feedback.

The 15-mile line, expected to open in 2018, will break ground in early 2015, serving Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Edina, Hopkins, St. Louis Park and Minneapolis.

For 60 days after the report is released, residents can give input or attend public meetings next month. To read the report Friday, go to www. southwesttransitway.org. Copies will also be at the Hennepin County 701 Building, county libraries, city halls in cities the line will cross and the Southwest LRT Project office.

Open houses followed by public hearings will take place at 4 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Hennepin County Government Center, 5 p.m. Nov. 14 at St. Louis Park City Hall and 5 p.m. Nov. 29 at Eden Prairie City Hall. Comments can be sent to swcorridor@co.hennepin.mn.us or 701 Fourth Ave. S., Suite 400, Minneapolis.
