Calendar, shmalender. What does your heart tell you?
Yesterdy was 80 degress and sunny. Today parts of Minnesota are getting 11 to 17 inches of snow. Yesterday, there was Twins baseball. Today there isn't.
Coincidence? I think not.
For Twins fans, 2013 begins today. Budget meetings for 2013 have begun over at Target Field. Next week the coaches, management and scouts meet in Florida to strategize about the offseason. Already there is talk about the coaching staff and the changes that could be made.
Like it or not, 2012 is over. The good news is that the 2013 has begun. The really good news? We'll get to that in a second....
Ever since the Twins fell out of postseason contention (which was effectively around mid-May), many fans have had their sights set on the upcoming offseason, which will prove pivotal toward dictating the organization's course in the coming years. The Twins need to decide whether they're interested in taking an aggressive approach toward returning to respectability or are instead ready to settle in for a long-haul rebuilding effort. One way or another, they need to do something. Complacency is not an option.
Now the really good news. There will be plenty of intriguing storylines to follow in the weeks ahead, and you'll be well prepared to track them all with the latest edition of the 2013 TwinsCentric Offseason Handbook, which becomes available for pre-sale today. It will officially release after the conclusion of the World Series.
This marks the fourth iteration of our increasingly popular annual offseason guide, and we're focused on making it our best yet. As usual, we'll be putting you in the shoes of the Twins' general manager with this jam-packed ebook, providing all the resources necessary to craft your own offseason blueprint.
Among the sections housed within, you'll find:
- a foreword by Aaron Gleeman
- a detailed organizational depth chart,
- an in-depth interview with Terry Ryan,
- listings of free agents at every position (including the crowded starting pitching market),
- various trade targets,
- reviews of the other teams in the division,
- essays on hot offseason topics, and
- tons more.
It's all delivered with the signature analysis and snark you've come to expect from the TwinsCentric goofs, and with a much-improved visual presentation. (Just check out the accompanying example to see what we mean.) We're confident that you'll find it to be a bargain at $9.95.
If you act quickly, you won't have to pay even that price for it. To reward those of you who are ready to lock up your copies now, we're making pre-orders available for a discounted price of $6.95, and we'll even drop it in your inbox early, at the start of the Fall Classic rather than the end.
The Handbook is going to be an engrossing, comprehensive read and an indispensable tool for wannabe GMs and casual fans alike as we enter a hugely important offseason. Don't be left behind – click below to order your copy (or copies!) with PayPal or a credit card through our simple and secure checkout process.
