Minneapolis South High School was put in a lockdown Wednesday for what officials were calling a "concern in the school community." The issue was later resolved.

During the lockdown, classes were conducted as usual, but students remained in the rooms, and the campus was closed during the lunch period and students with an open hour were not allowed to leave the building, said School District spokeswoman Rachel Hicks.

However, students were dismissed "as usual" at 3 p.m. for the school day, Hicks added. She said after-school activities will go on as scheduled.

The district has yet to disclose what has prompted the lockdown. Police Sgt. William Palmer said his department is involved "to a degree," but referred questions back to the district.
