Gophers freshman receiver Andre McDonald has been hospitalized, the university confirmed Thursday.
The Hopkins graduate, who appeared in the Gophers' opener against UNLV and caught one pass but has not played since, is undergoing tests, according to team spokesman Paul Rovnak. McDonald missed the Gophers' second game after developing an infection in his knee, but he returned to practice last week.
According to the campus newspaper, the Minnesota Daily, McDonald said by phone that he had "a little problem with my heart." The school released no information on McDonald's condition or symptoms.
