In "House at the End of the Street" (PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and terror, thematic elements, language, some teen partying and brief drug material) Jennifer Lawrence (pictured) plays a new arrival in a town whose most prominent couple were murdered by their teenage daughter, who reportedly drowned in a nearby swamp. Max Theriot plays their surviving son, a sensitive hunk whose brooding intensity lures Lawrence to the mansion where the double killing occurred. Soon their makeout sessions are interrupted by a third wheel wielding a butcher knife. Can the talented Lawrence elevate a clichéd premise? Search us. The film wasn't screened for critics.
