***UPDATE: All tickets will be honored at the make-up date, but anyone wanting a refund instead can get them through Ticketfly if they bought online or at the Joint (next door to the Cabooze) if they bought them in person.
It would have been a lovely night for an ugly punk-rock extravaganza, but tonight’s show with NOFX and Dillinger Four at the Cabooze Plaza has been postponed due to illness. According to D4 guitarist (and Triple Rock owner) Erik Funk, NOFX’s resilient frontman Mike “Fat Mike” Burkett is running a very high fever and had to finally throw in the towel this morning. “There was just no way he could travel,” said Funk, pointing out that tonight was to be the kickoff night of NOFX’s tour.
A makeup date is being sorted out, probably for early December, which obviously means it will have to be moved indoors. The Cabooze partnered on this show with First Avenue, so a wrestling match between the venues’ bookers might be in order. Hold onto your tickets to the show until the details are sorted out.
In the meantime, Funk has gone and set up a late show tonight at the Triple Rock with the two bands who were supposed to open outside the Cabooze, a new Fat Wreck Chords act out of Wymonig called Teenage Bottlerocket, along with Eau Claire’s Arms Aloft. Look for them to start about 11 p.m. after the Saul Williams show wraps with a minimal cover charge.
