You may recall the Plymouth Avenue Bridge that carried as many as 14,500 commuters daily over the Mississippi River. Or maybe you've forgotten it, since it hasn't been open to motorized traffic in nearly two years.
But repairs finally have begun and the city still is saying the span will open to vehicles again next month, even if the repairs won't finish until next spring. There will be lane closures to let work continue after the bridge reopens.
There's now a city-produced video where you can get a closer look at the repairs going on inside the hollow box griders that are held together by steel cables. You can see crews cutting out rotten sections of concrete and heavily corroded sections of cable.
