Want to buy a house in Minneapolis or St. Paul, but don't have the cash for a down payment? Check out NeighborhoodLIFT, a new program from Wells Fargo that allows buyers to apply for grants through a variety of non-profit neighborhood organizations.

But hurry!! The $9 million program won't last forever, and there's a special event today where you can find out if you qualify for the $15,000 - and you can even reserve those funds for 60 days. That event is at the Minneapolis Convention Center. It's open today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. There's free parking, and the event is free. Go to wwww.neighborhoodlift.com.

In conjunction with the event, there's a special Affordable Home Tour. It features more than 90 houses that are for sale and eligible for the program. The tour will be from noon to 5 p.m. today (Saturday, Sept. 8). Tour buses will leave from the Convention Center.

To check out the houses registered for the tour, including six that (and the one pictured above) are listed by Realtor Stephanie Gruver, click on this link.
