The readers have spoken! Last week David and Jim agreed to agree on games if that's how they really felt. They'll keep doing it as warranted. While their joint pick won last week, they will face intense razzing if one loses. David took the week, going 4-2 while Jim was 3-3. This week they're back to their old disagreeable selves. For the season: Jim 6-4, David 5-5. Here is a look at three metro games of note on this Friday's schedule.

Mounds View (1-0) vs. Cretin-Derham Hall (1-0), at University of St. Thomas, 7:30 p.m.

Jim says: Cretin-Derham Hall struggled against East Ridge last week and will face a Mounds View defense that is even better. The Mustangs' chances lie in basic football tenets: make no mistakes, limit big plays. I say they will.

Pick: Mounds View 21, Cretin-Derham Hall 20

David says: Mounds View's defense will no doubt make Cretin work. The Mustangs' offense is the rub. The group is disciplined but not dynamic and that will be the difference.

Pick: Cretin-Derham Hall 14, Mounds View 7

Edina (2-0) at Totino-Grace (1-0), 7 p.m.

Jim says: The last time Totino-Grace played host to a Lake Conference opponent, in the 2011 season opener, the Eagles were shut out by Minnetonka. Edina won't hold the Eagles scoreless, but the Hornets have some legit offensive weapons in QB Mark Handberg and WR Marley Allison.

Pick: Edina 30, Totino-Grace 23

David says: The Eagles boast their usual facets: a strong running game and opportunistic defense. How opportunistic? Three interception returns for scores last week. I like a defense that's around the ball.

Pick: Totino-Grace 21, Edina 20

Osseo (1-0) at Maple Grove (1-0), 7 p.m.

Jim says: While Centennial was focused on shutting down RB Bridge Tusler, Osseo threw a change of pace at Maple Grove with speedy RB Jaimen Hampton. He responded with 105 yards rushing and, more importantly, made the Orioles offense multidimensional.

Pick: Osseo 36, Maple Grove 26

David says: Maple Grove did everything right last week, scoring through the air, on the ground, on defense and with special teams. That balance, missing at times last season, makes the difference.

Pick: Maple Grove 24, Osseo 10
