Synthetic drugs were seized from a Blaine tobacco shop Friday morning, leading to the arrest of a 55-year-old man suspected of selling the products.

About 9 a.m., investigators with the Anoka-Hennepin Drug and Violent Crime Task Force searched Blaine Tobacco, on the corner of 93rd Lane and Central Avenue NE., and recovered 18 4-gram packages of "Chill Herbal Incense," according to Blaine police. The "herbal incense" tested positive for the synthetic analog AM-2201, a controlled substance.

The man is being jailed on suspicion of selling a controlled substance and has yet to be charged.

The search of the shop follows last month's police raid on the Last Place on Earth in Duluth during a nationwide federal crackdown on dealers of synthetic or designer drugs.
