Broken homesOne man's dilapidated building is another man's mansion. That's the premise of "Abandoned" (8 p.m., National Geographic Channel), a new series in which craftsman Jay Chaikin digs through structures just before they're going to be torn down to see if he can secure some treasure. Among the discoveries: an Edison phonograph, a Zenith radio and a ham-and-cheese sandwich I misplaced about nine years ago.

G'day! Now that Mike Rowe has cleaned up America, it's time to take his skills to Australia. "Dirty Jobs Down Under" (9 p.m., Discovery) finds him on a whole new wave of adventures, including how to capture poisonous snakes and pesky toads.

Twilight zone The Minneapolis band Poliça continues to make the late-night rounds, stopping by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (11:32 p.m. KSTP, Ch. 5). It's a great opportunity for the group to introduce itself to legions of "Twilight" fans; Robert Pattinson is among the night's guests.
