A shooting Saturday evening that took the life of a 30-year-old man may have been witnessed by a woman who was seen fleeing from the area, police said Monday. They asked for the public's help to identify her and determine whether or not she witnessed the still unsolved murder.

She was seen running from an apartment building at the 2200 block of 5th Avenue South at about 8:45 p.m., when someone shot the man in a hallway inside the building, police said. The man was found about a block away at Portland and 22nd St. E.

The woman was described as black, in her early 20s with a slender build and shoulder length dark hair. She wore a pink top, according to police reports.

The police asked anyone who can help identify her to call the Tips Line at 612-692-TIPS (8477).
