Leftover notes and quotes from Monday’s 9-3 victory for the Twins:

* The Tigers had six hits, their fewest in 22 games at Target Field. They had averaged 11 hits in their previous 21 games here.

* The Twins finished with 18 hits, their most since July 16 vs. Baltimore.

* Anibal Sanchez, who allowed 12 hits tonight for Detroit, is now 1-3 with a 7.97 ERA in four starts since getting traded from the Marlins.

“Sanchez got too many pitches up,” Tigers manager Jim Leyland said. “I don’t know what to say other than our starting pitcher did not pitch well.”

* Samuel Deduno is 4-0 with a 2.67 ERA in his past five starts.

Asked if he’s thinking about next year, and his chance to establish himself with this team, he said, “Yeah, I would like to stay here and keep working. Get better.”

Twins catcher Ryan Doumit said: “I just set up right down the middle with him and let the ball do the work. You don’t know what he’s going to do. It’ll dart, it’ll cut, it’ll sink, it’ll rise. I was back there like a goalie putting fingers down and saying try to hit this guy. It’s fun to watch him. He works hard, he cares and gives us a chance to win.”
