Eduardo Escobar

Age: 23

Hometown: Villa de Cura, Venezuela

Ht./Wt.: 5-10, 165

Position: Shortstop

Bats/throws: S/R

Misc.: Played nine games in a September call-up in 2011. In 36 games this season, primarily as a defensive backup, he is hitting .193 (14-for-83), with two doubles, a triple and nine walks. While his defensive skills draw raves, with comparisons to Omar Vizquel, his hitting skills need developing. According to the White Sox: "He can flat-out play shortstop with good range, hands and an excellent arm. If he can continue to show anything with the bat, he could turn into a good all-around shortstop."
