TRAINING CAMP PRIMER

Where: Minnesota State University in Mankato

When: Players report Thursday and are in Mankato until Aug. 15.

Daily schedule: Practices start Friday. On most days, team has a walk-through from 10:30-11:30 a.m., and practice from 2:45-5:30 p.m. There is no practice on July 29, Aug. 5 and Aug. 9-11. Full-pad scrimmage is Saturday, Aug. 4, at 7 p.m.

Fan info: Practices are free. There are scheduled autograph times for players by position. See vikings.com for details.

Preseason games: Aug. 10 at San Francisco, 8 p.m.; Aug. 17 vs. Buffalo (Mall of America Field), 7 p.m.; Aug. 24 vs. San Diego (Mall of America Field), 7 p.m.; Aug. 30 at Houston, 6 p.m.

After Mankato: The team moves to Eden Prairie for workouts, closed to the public, starting Aug. 19.

Cutdown days: Teams must cut from 90 to 75 by Aug. 27, and must get to 53 players by Aug. 31.

Regular season: The Vikings open at noon on Sept. 9 against Jacksonville at Mall of America Field.
