A downtown Minneapolis restaurant lost its permit to make retail sales last month for failing to pay sales tax to the state, the Minnesota Department of Revenue said Monday.

Drink, Inc., doing business as Drink, at 510 First Avenue N. did not pay sales tax between March 2003 and January 2007 and owes more than $126,000 in back taxes, the state said.

Two additional businesses that lost their sales tax permits in recent months each owe at least $100,000 in back taxes:

The permit for Club 46, Inc., doing business as Rachael's Club 46, in north Minneapolis, was revoked on April 26 for owing $203,605.

The permit for MFT Industrial Cleaners, Inc., in St. Paul was revoked on May 5 for owing $156,426.
