Like the Minnesota State Fair, there's way too much to do and to look at, what with the parties, concerts, benefits and various club events. I've come up with a clip-and-save guide to help you navigate the busy weekend. Looking for a dance party? Plenty of those here. How about something to do with the kids? I've got a suggestion. Craft beer? Good news: The Pride organizers have jumped on the Minnesota brewery bandwagon. Get your scissors out.
Pop star resurrectionKelly Rowland: The former Destiny's Child member turned gay icon headlines the Loring Park festival. (Gates open 5:30 p.m. Sat., Loring Park, $15-$25, www.tcpride.org)
Mya: The onetime R&B princess is more than a decade removed from her early-2000s hits ("Lady Marmalade") but she'll bring some star power to the Saloon's annual block party. Crystal Waters opens. (4:30 p.m. Sun., 830 Hennepin Av. S., $15-$20, www.saloonmn.com)
Frenchie Davis: The outspoken "American Idol" castoff will let her pipes blow in the Bolt Underground. (10 p.m. Fri. 515 Washington Av. S., Mpls., $20, www.eagleboltbar.com)
Dance floor takeoverFirst Avenue: Hell's Kitchen's always-packed "Grown & Sexy" dance night moves to the much bigger First Ave, featuring the triple threat of DJ Shannon Blowtorch, Nadine Dubois and Sweetpea. (9 p.m. Fri., 701 1st Av. N., Mpls., $12-$15, www.first-avenue.com)
Epic: The guys behind the Big Gay Pride Party don't mince words about the largeness of this annual dance extravaganza. With New York's DJ Escape. (9:30 p.m. Fri., $15-$20. www.epicmpls.com)
Ladies' nightsBoobytrap: For a second year, the long-running female-centric dance party is sticking with the big digs at Epic for its sultry Pride party. (9 p.m. Sat., 110 N. 5th St., Mpls., $15, www.epicmpls.com)
Women's Pride Dance: The gorgeous Woman's Club on Loring Park had so much fun during last year's Pride it's bringing back this dance party. (8:30 p.m. Fri., 410 Oak Grove St., Mpls, $10, www.womansclub.org)
Family affairFruit Bowl: If you're looking for a Pride party sans alcohol, this annual bowling/karaoke party at Memory Lanes is perfect for families. (6:30 p.m. Fri., 2520 26th Av. S., Mpls., $5, www.rainbowhealth.org)
Block party centralLush: The northeast Minneapolis bar spared no expense for its Pride throwdown, with performances by Nina Sky and Cazwell on Saturday and Dev on Sunday. (Fri.-Sun., 990 Central Av. NE., Mpls., $20-$30, www.lushfoodbar.com)
Loring Kitchen: The restaurant will take advantage of its prime real estate with an outdoor stage featuring hip-hop duo Ill Chemistry on Friday and then God-des & She on Sunday. (Fri.-Sun., 1359 Willow St., Mpls., free, www.loringkitchen.com)
Craft beer prideBeer Dabbler: The 40th annual Pride festival in Loring Park kicks off the weekend with something new. For the first time, the Beer Dabbler will host one of its ultra-popular all-you-can-sample outdoor fests in association with Pride. Bonus: The fest's 20 Minnesota breweries will be paired with 20 food trucks, with each mobile eatery offering a special $3 menu item. (5:30-9:30 p.m. Fri., Loring Park, $45, www.thebeerdabbler.com)
Hot rooftopsSeven: The best place to watch Sunday's parade isn't on the curb but high above. This ultralounge's rooftop will be a hot ticket, as will its Bitch-N-Brunch with drag diva Bitch Flowers. (9:30 a.m. Sun., 700 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls., $30 buffet/$10 without, www.7mpls.com)
