Diamond faces the Phillies tonight

Update: The game is starting on time.
The last thing the Twins and Phillies want tonight is a rainout, but the hourly forecast on Weather.com looks pretty daunting.
Since this is getaway night for the Phillies, and this is obviously their lone trip to Minnesota, the teams will do everything they can to play. Otherwise, the Phillies would have to come back on a mutual off day, and one possibility is Sept. 6.
If they play tonight, the Twins will have their best starting pitcher on the mound, in Scott Diamond, facing the struggling Joe Blanton, who is 1-3 with a 9.91 ERA in his past five starts.
The Twins placed pitcher P.J. Walters on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation, with reliever Lester Oliveros here to take his roster spot. We’ll get an update later on the team’s starting pitching plans moving forward.
Update: Manager Ron Gardenhire said the Twins plan to have Liam Hendriks make Saturday's start against the Brewers, though the team doesn't want to make that official yet. Gardenhire said he's not sure who will take Walters' spot the next time it comes up, but said Jeff Manship is a candidate.
