After being reprimanded by MLB commissioner Bud Selig, Chicago White Sox announcer Ken "Hawk" Harrelson said a tirade such as the one he unleashed on the air against umpire Mark Wegner won't happen again.
Harrelson talked with Selig and White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf on Thursday.
"They just both read my (butt) out, which they should have," Harrelson said Friday on "Carmen, Jurko & Harry" on ESPN 1000. "I'm a big boy, and I'm a tough guy. I don't want to go through that again. I'd rather fight Rocky Marciano. ... It's done, it's over, I said what I said and we're going to move on from there. It's not going to happen again. I'm going to be the same guy but I just can't allow myself ... I had a headache that you can't believe for a day and a half. That's not good for me at my age."
We'll believe it when we hear it.
Also, programming note: Blogging will be pretty sporadic the next couple of weeks as we attempt to take some non-baseball road trip time off before another busy stretch of work. We're guessing we won't completely shut things down, but consider this a fair warning.
