The Twins can still finish the road trip with a 6-2 record if they win on Thursday.

Here are three quick thoughts - and I mean quick because I got locked inside the parking lot last night and had to squeeze the car between two iron posts then drive over a sidewalk and curb to get out of the place.

1. Chris Sale rocks. This kid could cause problems for the Twins for years. His sinker hit 94 tonight - his sinker. He had a good change and a slider. It's really tough for a lefty to get around on his pitches. "He had the ball moving," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. Brian Dozier said Sale threw more change ups than they anticipated. Sale said he's really worked on changing speeds lately and credited catcher A.J. Pierzynski for calling a great game.

2. Scott Diamond was solid. Diamond made a bad pitch to Rios for the homer but wasn't that bad. A couple blooper fell in on him. His defense let him down with errors, forcing him to throw more pitches in six innings than he should have. But he didn't sound too frustrated after the game. We have a lot of ball left to play to see if Diamond is really a keeper but, even in defeat, he looked like he belonged.

3. The Joke in on Dazzle. KSTP's Dan Gladden was the victim of a prank before the game when two Chicago Police officers entered the radio booth, informed him that there was a warrant out for his arrest, slapped the cuffs on him and led him out of the radio booth and to the elevator bank before he was told it was a joke. Gladden apparently has a couple friends on the force who set it up - and there's a rumor that White Sox broadcaster Ed Farmer was part of the gag too.
