ANAHEIM, CALIF. -- Justin Morneau left Monday night's game against the Angels in the seventh inning with a sore left wrist and will fly back to Minnesota on Tuesday to see a hand specialist.
Morneau had surgery to stabilize a tendon in his left wrist last October. He said it started bothering him again two weeks ago in Tampa and was particularly painful Monday. He hopes it's scar tissue breaking up in there but will probably have an MRI to be sure.
He started as the DH and was 0-for-2 with a strikeout in his first two at-bats. He struck out swinging at a letter-high fastball from Angels starter C.J. Wilson in his second at-bat. Sean Burroughs pinch hit for Morneau in the seventh.
