The Dish: "The Dictator"
- April 28, 2012 - 5:32 PM
"The Dictator" made his first appearance since dumping ashes on Ryan Seacrest on the Oscar red carpet, and his alter ego, Sacha Baron Cohen, dumped more debris -- metaphorically speaking. At a promotional event/sneak peek for the movie opening May 16, Baron Cohen said, "I thought I was the only dictator in the house, but [DreamWorks honcho] Jeffrey Katzenberg is here. He rules with an iron fist." (Katzenberg later saluted him, perhaps with that iron fist.) His next target was Disney, which recently fired chairman Rich Ross. Holding up what he said was a detonator, Baron Cohen said, "It's a bigger bomb than 'John Carter.' In my country we shoot executives. Oh, wait, you did."The final reel
Russell Crowe has been cast in the title role of Darren Aronofsky's biblical epic "Noah." ... Jennifer Lawrence ("Winter's Bone," "The Hunger Games") is in talks to play another hardscrabble heroine in the adaptation of Jeannette Walls' bestselling memoir "The Glass Castle." ... Owen Wilson is the patriarch in the family drama "The Coup." ... Jessica Chastain is in talks to join "Iron Man 3," joining newcomers Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce. ... Tom Cruise will play Jack Reacher in "One Shot," a character described in Lee Child's books as 6 feet 5. Now that's a reach.
