The renovation of Northrop Auditorium won't be finished until 2014, but Northrop Dance is offering a full 2012-13 season, mostly at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis.

New York City Ballet Moves, a touring branch of the famed New York company, makes its Minnesota debut Oct. 23-24 at the Orpheum. That program includes live music and choreography of George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon and Peter Martins.

Hofesh Shechter Company, based in England and named after its Israeli-born choreographer and director, brings an evening-length work called "Political Mother" on Nov. 13. It features 10 dancers and eight musicians.

Chicago-based Joffrey Ballet arrives Feb. 26, presenting William Forsythe's 1987 Paris Opera Ballet commission "In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated." Also on the bill: a new piece by Stanton Welch, and "The Rite of Spring" (1913).

The contemporary Brazilian dance company Grupo Corpo performs March 5, 2013, in "Ima," by choreographer Rodrigo Pederneiras.

From Cambodia, the Khmer Arts Ensemble makes its Minnesota debut April 5, 2013 (State Theatre), performing the new work "A Bend in the River," that includes dancers, musicians and puppets.

Grupo Corpo, "Ima"

"The Rite of Spring," with music by Stravinsky, gets another staging (May 1, 2013) by the French company Béjart Ballet Lausanne, performing with the University of Minnesota Symphony Orchestra. Béjart's 1959 version is choreographed by Maurice Béjart.

Northrop and St. Catherine University will bring women dancers to the O'Shaughnessy in the Women of Substance series that will include Soledad Barrio and Noche Flamenca (Oct. 3); Rosie Herrera Dance Theatre (Nov. 29); Bebe Miller Company (Feb. 12, 2013); Minneapolis-based Emily Johnson and Catalyst (April 21, 2013).

At Ted Mann Concert Hall (Sept. 21 and 22), Northrop Dance presents SOLO, two evenings of solo debuts by six Twin Cities dancers and McKnight fellows: Amanda Dlouhy, Emilie Plauche Flink, Nic Lincoln, Leslie O'Neill, Eddie Bruno Oroyan and Amy Behm Thomson.
