Start planning your best garden ever at your local library. Master gardeners will present more than a dozen free programs on topics including rain gardens, edible landscapes, vegetable and container gardening at Hennepin County libraries this month. RAINY DAY GARDENS

SPRING AT THE ARB

Outside yellow daffodils, rhododendrons and hyacinth are in bloom at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Inside, a wide range of events:

"Living With Orchids" exhibit of hundreds of species and hybrids ends April 29. All About Dogs Day includes a walk along the three-mile drive and Pet Expo from 9 to 11 a.m. this Sat. Cost is $25 for each dog.

"Grow Your Own Food" features tips on selecting vegetables for your garden and recipes, 10 a.m. to noon Sat. Cost is $35 to $45. To register, call 952-443-1422.
