Postgame update: The Twins beat Baltimore 5-0 Tuesday afternoon in Sarasota. Glen Perkins gave up the only Baltimore hit, an eighth-inning double by Robert Andino, who was thrown out trying to reach third on the play.

Jamey Carroll had two hits for the Twins, including a double that was their only extra-base hit.

Anthony Swarzak started and pitched 3 2/3's hitless innings, walking three. Jeff Gray added 2 1/3 hitless innings.

SARASOTA, FLA. -- The Twins made four more cuts from their spring training roster this morning, optioning outfielder Joe Benson and pitcher Jeff Manship to Class AAA Rochester and re-assigning catcher Rene Rivera and infielder Pedro Florimon to minor-league camp.

No big surprises here. Benson showed flashes of brilliance this spring and will definitely be a prospect to watch this season. Manship showed how good he can be now that he's healthy. At times, we heard Florimon had a real shot to make the roster because of his defensive prowess at shortstop.

Anthony Swarzak is starting today's game against the Orioles because Carl Pavano will be facing them on Opening Day on April 6. So Pavano is back in Fort Myers today, pitching in a minor-league game.

Update: Among the players the Twins cut from minor-league camp today: pitchers Matt Bashore and Ben Tootle, infielders Chris Cates and Steve Pearce and outfielder Dustin Martin.

Update: The Twins also released former Angels reliever Jason Bulger from minor-league camp, La Velle has learned.
