Bemidji State senior forward James Ellisor was named Daktronics NCAA Division II men's basketball national player of the year, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced. Ellisor ranked third nationally at 21.9 points per game.
AP names Janning player of yearWatertown-Mayer senior guard Marissa Janning was named the Minnesota Associated Press Player of the Year for high school girls' basketball. Joining Janning on the AP's all-state team are Braham junior guard Rebekah Dahlman, New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva sophomore guard Carlie Wagner, Hopkins junior guard Nia Coffey and Eden Prairie senior forward Jackie Johnson.
