Mike Yeo has been grumpy after more than a few losses this season.

Add Sunday to the list. The Wild started slow, fell behind 2-0, got two quick goals from Eric Christensen to tie it up in the third period....

... and then mistakes and what Yeo called a lack of effort resulted in another loss.

Afterwards Yeo went pretty frontal. He said there were five or six Wild players not playing hard enough to win. He said, as healthy bodies come back, he's going to play guys who want to play hard. With the playoffs no longer really in the picture this year, Yeo is clearly trying to set a tone to be taken into the off-season.

Here are a few of Yeo's comments:

--On the team's slow start: "It's a little bit maddening to be honest with you. We owe our fans good games here. This is too many games in a row where we have come out flat in our own building."

--On whether everybody played hard: "We had a lot of guys but we didn't have everybody. And we're playing against a team that has 20 guys out there playing like they need to win. We had a handful of guys who let us down tonight."

--On what he'll do about that: "The nice thing is we have one extra body now, and potentially another one on the way. And we're going to be playing guys that want to play hard."

Clayton Stoner would be the one healthy body back; he returned to action Sunday. The other? Yeo didn't specify, but it could be Mikko Koivu or Cal Clutterbuck.

I would say the Wild will have a pretty demanding practice tomorrow.

Other observations from tonight:

--Erik Christensen looked like a totally different player than the one we've seen since a trade brought him here. Afterwards he talked about how much rust he had to work off after spending most of the season as a healthy scratch with the New York Rangers.

--I didn't think goaltender Matt Hackett had a chance on three of the four goals scored tonight.

--Stephane Veilleux got his first point since rejoining the Wild, and it was his 100th career point.

--Defenseman Tom Gilbert got an assist, his first since coming here in a trade. He is a plus-3 in his last two games.

That's about it for now. Mr. Russo will be back with the team tomorrow.
