FORT MYERS, FLA. -- Twins center fielder Denard span was scratched from today's lineup with a stiff neck and is day-to-day.

General Manager Terry Ryan said it's not concussion related or anything, just a stiff neck that came up during Saturday's game against the Pirates.

"If this is the biggest injury we have to worry about this spring, we're in good shape," Ryan said.

Before Span was scratched, the Twins had their projected Opening Day lineup together for this game, the third one this spring televised on Fox Sports North. Joe Benson replaced Span in center field, and Ben Revere moved into the leadoff spot.

The Yankees have a split-squad day, with half their team playing the Phillies, so I expected a bunch of kids in their lineup here at Hammond Stadium. Actually, it's not bad.

Manager Joe Girardi prefers to keep his outfielders and infielders together. So Jeter, Cano, A-Rod and Teixeira are back in Tampa, but Gardner, Granderson and Swisher are here.
