The music is just one year old, and has not yet been recorded as a CD, but you can listen to Irish composer Gerald Barry's striking and charming piece called "Feldman's Sixpenny Editions" here.

Or wait, and hear the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and conductor Thomas Zehetmair perform the U.S. premiere of the 20-minute work in its concert series March 29-31.

This streaming audio was recorded live at the work's world premiere in London on March 10, 2011, when it was played by the London Sinfonietta, led by conductor (and composer) Thomas Ades. The composer said he took inspiration from "tacky little Edwardian jingles" that obsessed him as a child.

The SPCO will perform the Barry work at its neighborhood venues in Stillwater (March 29, 7:30 p.m.), Eden Prairie (March 30, 8 p.m.) and St. Paul (March 31, 8 p.m.). That program will include two Schubert works, including his Symphony No. 4, the Tragic.
