Adam E. Berg told his wife that he'd walk up to a child, unzip his pants and expose himself "because it gave him a rush," according to court documents.

Berg, 30, of Farmington, is accused of at least four incidents in which he exposed himself or showed cellphone photos of female genitalia to children. He has been charged in Dakota County District Court with two counts of attempted second-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony, and two counts of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct, a gross misdemeanor.

The incidents all allegedly occurred in Farmington between Jan. 16 and Monday, and police there are investigating whether there may be other victims. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 651-280-6700.

Berg made his first court appearance Thursday and has been released on $30,000 bail. His next court date is April 2.

According to the criminal complaint: On Jan. 16, Berg approached a 4-year-old boy playing in a park, exposed himself and asked the boy to touch him. Berg walked away when the boy's mother approached.

A second incident happened Feb. 13 when a man in a pickup truck approached an 8-year-old girl playing outside her home, exposed himself and asked her to touch him.

Two more incidents happened on Monday. About 5 p.m. that day, a 10-year-old girl walking to a nearby park was approached by a man in a truck who showed her a cellphone photo of a naked female. About a half-hour later, a man approached two boys, ages 9 and 12, in the driveway of a home and held up a cellphone with a photo of a female's genitals. The boys' father saw his sons talking to the man and provided police with a description of the vehicle.

After Berg was arrested, he admitted exposing himself. In a phone call to his wife from the police station, he told her his actions "gave him a rush," the complaint said.
