The Wiggle Your Toes Winter Event at the Hotel Sofitel in Bloomington marked a victory of sorts.

Featured speaker Anthony Robles, 23, was born with just one leg, but that didn't stop him from winning the 2011 NCAA individual wrestling championship in the 125-pound weight class.

When the athlete went to get a prosthetic leg, his insurance denied the claim. That's where Wiggle Your Toes, a Minnesota nonprofit agency, stepped in.

Founder Aaron Holm of Shakopee related to Robles. After a 2007 car accident left Holm a bilateral, above-the-knee amputee, he started the organization to help others find "resources, products and services needed to become mobile and active again" -- including helping Robles get a prosthetic.

"Wrestling made me tougher in life," Robles said. "We all wrestle through life, not just flesh and blood opponents, but we can always come out on top."
