Trade rumors With the trade deadline three weeks away, rumors are running rampant. Take Tuomo Ruutu, the Carolina forward and Wild captain Mikko Koivu's bosom buddy.

"I've heard rumors I'm going to every team in the NHL," Ruutu said. "I must be really playing well. We're all human. Some guys take it more seriously, some take it less seriously."

Carter and Calgary? With the Columbus Blue Jackets looking to trade Jeff Carter, look for Calgary to make a play. The Flames badly need a center and GM Jay Feaster has made it clear the Flames are all-in to make the playoffs.

Also, look for Toronto to revisit trying to acquire James Van Riemsdyk. Many believe the Maple Leafs were close before the Flyers youngster suffered a concussion last month. Earlier this season, he was rumored to be heading to Anaheim for Bobby Ryan.

Schneider might be shipped out Goalie Cory Schneider is outperforming Roberto Luongo in Vancouver, but Luongo has a contract until 2022. "If I'm going to get traded, I can't control that," Schneider said. "It would be selfish to just think of me and not the team. I could make it easy and not perform the way I want and there wouldn't be talk of anything."

Avs' Jones may be on market The Colorado Avalanche would be willing to deal Paul Stastny, but he is having an awful year and makes $6.6 million. David Jones, who led the Avalanche with 27 goals last year, could be had. He's a potential free agent.
