Senior left winger Emily West of the Gophers has been named the WCHA's offensive player of the week.

West had three goals last Friday as the Gophers beat Minnesota State Mankato 6-3 on the road and had another goal Saturday in her team's 4-1 win. The hat trick was the first of her college career.

West, of Colorado Springs, has 16 goals and 10 assists for 26 points in 26 games this season.

OTHER AWARDS

Sophomore goalie Alex Rigsby of Wisconsin is the conference's defensive player of the week. She stopped 64 of 66 shots as swept visiting Bemidji State 3-2 in overtime and 1-0. The shutout in the second game was the sixth this season for Rigsby of Delafield, Wis.. ... Defenseman Kelly Seeler of the Gophers was also nominate for this award.

The rookie of the week is forward Josefine Jakobsen of North Dakota. Jakobsen of Aalborg, Denmark, had a goal and four assists as UND split on the road with Ohio State. The Buckeyes won the first game 6-2, lost the second 5-2.
