Gophers sophomore center Amanda Kessel was named WCHA women's co-offensive player of the week after she had hat tricks in both games in a sweep of New Hampshire. Kessel shared the award with Wisconsin's Carolyne Prevost who, like Kessel, had an eight-point weekend as the Badgers swept RPI.

Kessel has 17 goals and 17 assists for 34 points this season -- that's exactly two points per game. She is first in the WCHA in goals, second in points per game.

North Dakota's Candace Molle was defensive player of the week and Ohio State's Taylor Kuehl, a freshman forward from Minnetonka, was the rookie of the week. Kuehl had three assists in a sweep at Syracuse.

Defenseman Megan Bozek of the Gophers was among the other players nominated for defensive player of the week; forward Meghan Lorence of the Gophers was a rookie of the week nominee.
