Infielder Brian Dozier and pitcher Liam Hendriks have been named the Twins minor league player and pitcher of the year.
Dozier, 24, began the season at Class A Fort Myers, where he batted .322 in 49 games before being promoted to Class AA New Britain. In 127 games with the Rock Cats, Dozier batted .320 with 33 doubles, 15 triples, 9 home runs and 56 RBI. Dozier, a shortstop, currently is 7-for-19 through five games with the Mesa Solar Sox of the Arizona Fall League. Dozier was considered for a callup in August before the Twins decided on Trevor Plouffe.
Hendriks, a righthander, was 8-2, 2.70 in 16 games (15 starts) with New Britain before moving on to Class AAA Rochester, where he was 4-4,4.56 in nine starts. He was called up on Sept. 6 when the Twins ran low on starters and was 0-2, 6.17 in four starts.
Hendriks, 22, was signed as a non-drafted free agent out of Australia.
Dozier and Hendriks will be honored on Jan. 26 at the Seventh Annual Diamond Awards, held at Target Field.
