Some of the countless PR pitches that come our way succeed and make it onto a page of some sort on merit alone. Others make it there for an opposite reason: open mockery.

This one falls somewhere in between, with the NyQuil folks falling victim to our own sense of Vikings doom. Per the press release:

It's officially football season, and on behalf of Vicks I want to reach out to you about the NyQuil/DayQuil Most Dedicated Fan contest. In the NFL there are no sick days for players, coaches or true fans, which is why Vicks is partnering once again with quarterback Drew Brees to search for the most passionate fans in the NFL. We would love for some Vikings fans to enter and show their support for their team. Vikings fans who think they can prove they are "Fan Enough" can enter to win the title of the "Most Dedicated Fan" in the NFL.

The contest kicks-off on September 26th and fans that embody the spirit of a dedicated fan should visit www.Facebook.com/NyQuil before October 23rd and submit a photo, with a personalized rally cry that shows why they are the Most Dedicated Fan. We're not suggesting Vikings fans are uniquely situated to need NyQuil to get through this season. Then again, we're not NOT suggesting it. Winner get a paid trip for two to the Super Bowl ... to watch the Packers play somebody from the AFC.
