Sorry for the delay. A lot of talks in the clubhouse this morning.

Twins outfielder Denard Span told the trainers that he preferred to play tomorrow in Cleveland rather than try to turn around and play a day game following a night game. Span played four innings on Wednesday in his first action since Aug. 13.

Hearing that lefthander Brian Duensing will start the second game of the day-night doubleheader in Cleveland on Saturday. Francisco Liriano was the initial choice, but Duensing has made a few outings since recovering from an oblique strain and can handle the workload. Liriano probably will relieve Duensing in the game.

Outfielder Jason Kubel will travel with the team despite a sore left foot. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire likely will limit Kubel to pinch hitting duties.

Twins catchers are in a 0-for-36 skid.

The Twins' 11-game losing streak is their longest of the season and third-longest all time. The second-longest is a 13-game streak in 1961.

The Twins on Wednesday became the third team in club history to lose 95 games in a season.
