Doh! Rookie Stephen Burton made a great play for a defensive back. Problem is, he's a receiver.

The seventh-round draft pick went up during a Hail Mary pass and swatted the ball away just as tight end Allen Reisner was about to catch it for a touchdown Wednesday.

Asked if he's ever seen that before, Vikings coach Leslie Frazier laughed and said, "No, you usually don't see that, so we'll definitely have something to coach off of the tape."

Remember me? Greg Camarillo, a smallish 29-year-old veteran, has gotten lost in the shuffle of taller, younger receivers. But Tuesday, he stood out.

During the two-minute drill, Camarillo ran decisive routes, found pockets of open space and showed exceptional hands. He made three impressive catches, two from Christian Ponder and one from Joe Webb, while running crossing patterns in traffic.

Camarillo said the offense has reached a point where it's doing more reviewing of plays rather than introducing new plays.

"And sometimes you get the ball," Camarillo said. "You always feel like you've had a better day when you get the ball."

QB update Donovan McNabb is getting more comfortable with the offense, but it might not matter because his pass protection is an issue. McNabb completed six of seven passes during the two-minute drill, but was sacked on a second down when backup right defensive end Everson Griffin beat left tackle Charlie Johnson. On third-and-long, McNabb checked down to Adrian Peterson, who was short of the first down.

Webb worked with the second team, as he will do Saturday night at Tennessee, Frazier said. Webb's ability to run from pressure and throw on the run is his greatest strength right now.

Ponder looked good during the only two-minute drive to result in points. He went 3-for-3 on his passes, including a nice read and deep out pass to Devin Aromashodu, setting up a 31-yard field goal.
