It's not as cheap as a suit custom-made in Hong Kong (I'm guessing), but Graham & Gunn Personal Tailoring is set up in the St. Louis Park Costco through Aug 14.

A custom-made suit through Costco is $600 or $800 depending on fabric. (Custom suits at Top Shelf Inc. in Minneapolis range from $1,100 to $2,500, according to its website.) Sportcoats/blazers are $449, pants are $159 or $199 and shirts are $89 or $99 at Costco. Styles are traditional or contemporary with choices or pleated or unpleated pants and two or three button fronts. Cotton shirts have three different collars and cuff options.

Here are a few caveats that I noticed. The number of fabric choices is small (fewer than 20 for suits). The custom fit is created by a machine, not scores of tailor-made measurements.

Costco still offers its money-back guarantee on the custom products.

This is the first time that Costco's custom tailoring has come to Minnesota. It is available in St. Louis Park through Sunday. Walk-ins are welcome, but you can make an appointment at Costco and then search "menssuits."
