A stellar lineup of children and young adult authors will be reading at Hamline University beginning this Friday and running through the end of next week. Hamline, of course, offers an MFA in writing for children, and many of the authors in this reading series also teach there. Here's the lineup: Friday, July 8: Ron Koertge ("Arizona Kid," "Mariposa Blues"), Jane Resh Thomas (she's legendary! She's written so much, including "The Comeback Dog" and "Courage at Indian Deep") and Anne Ursu ("The Shadow Thieves"). July 10: Mary Rockcastle ("Rainy Lake"), Claire Rudolf Murphy ("Marching with Aunt Susan" –that's Susan B. Anthony to you – and "Caribou Girl") and Marsha Chall ("Up North at the Cabin"). July 11: Liza Ketchum ("Where the Great Hawk Flies"), Eleanora Tate ("The Secret of Gumbo Grove," Phyllis Root (another legend! Author of "Big Belching Bog" and something like 40 other books). July 12: Jackie Briggs Martin ("The Chiru of High Tibet"); Kelly Easton ("White Magic," Marsha Qualey ("Thin Ice").

July 15: Sheila O'Connor, author of the new YA novel, "Sparrow Road." (You can read our review here.) July 16: Patricia MacLachlan, winner of the Newbery Medal for "Sarah, Plain and Tall," and author of many others, including "Word After Word After Word." For times and locations, go here.
