Wild will see former coach in season opener

Mike Yeo's debut behind the Wild bench will come against his predecessor.
The Wild opens the 2011-12 season Oct. 8 at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets, where former Wild coach Todd Richards has just become an assistant.
The Wild opens the season with eight of its first 12 games at home and ends the season with 10 of its final 14 at home.
The 82-game schedule features 18 against the Eastern Conference, including two each against Winnipeg, Florida and the New York Islanders. The Wild also visits Buffalo, Montreal, Ottawa, Philadelphia, Toronto and Washington while hosting defending Stanley Cup champion Boston, Carolina, New Jersey, the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay.
Hockey Day Minnesota will be Jan. 21 against Dallas, while the Wild also plays host to traditional holiday games such as the Wednesday before Thanksgiving (Nov. 23) vs. Nashville; the Friday matinee after Thanksgiving (Nov. 25) against Edmonton; the day after Christmas (Dec. 26) game against Colorado and the New Year's Eve game against Phoenix.
The Wild's longest homestand is six games, Nov. 17-28 against Colorado, St. Louis, Nashville, Edmonton, Calgary and Tampa Bay. The Wild has two five-game road trips and 10 sets of back-to-backs.
Season tickets are on sale now, while individual tickets go on sale in September.
