All day opponents of the marriage amendment Friday loud protested outside the Minnesota House chamber.

Every time the massive wood doors to the House chamber opened, their chants flooded in.

"Just vote no."

"Just vote no."

Late Friday night, Rep. Greg Davids, R-Preston, was explaining an uncontroversial bill he brought to the floor.

The doors opened.

"Just vote no."

"Just vote no."

Streamed onto the House floor.

Davids paused for the noise to fade and and returned to his bill.

"Please vote yes," he said.
