George Bergquist of Princeton noticed that his cholesterol-lowering drugs seemed to run out sooner than expected. When he refilled his prescription with a mail-order pharmacy, he unscrewed the top of the bottle, dumped out the contents and counted every pill.

The order was 10 short. Bergquist called up the pharmacy, got a quick apology and the missing pills were sent to him.

Yet the experience bothered Bergquist enough that he contacted Whistleblower to warn prescription drug users to count their meds to be sure they aren't getting ripped off.

"It's really kind of an inconvenient thing," he admitted, but that's how pharmacies could get away with shorting their customers.

Are you the kind of customer who counts your pills?
