The owner of a Brooklyn Park cosmetology school was fined $18,000 and directed to improve the school's training, sanitation and record-keeping after an inspection found numerous licensing violations, the Minnesota Board of Cosmetologist Examiners ordered last month.Zegis Beauty School Inc., owned by Teresa Q. Vu, was first licensed in 2009. Board staff visited the school in July 2010 and found sanitation, record-keeping and instruction-related violations.Inspectors returned in September, cataloguing 36 similar violations.Vu's license was suspended for two years, but the action was stayed as long as she submits an acceptable compliance plan and avoids further violations.Read the full order here.
