FORT MYERS, FLA. -- We’ve had some heavy rain this morning at Hammond Stadium, so the Twins are working out in the indoor batting cages, but there’s hope they'll still play the Blue Jays this afternoon, through delays if necessary.

Francisco Liriano told me his left shoulder feels fine, though he did have a heat pack on the shoulder as we spoke. Liriano said he’s really been struggling with his mechanics after taking a week off from throwing before spring training. In bullpen sessions, Liriano has been trying not to rush his delivery.

If you’re going to struggle like this, it’s better to have it happen early in spring training than sometime during the season.

La Velle caught up with Michael Cuddyer, who said he's hoping to hit and throw today after having his left foot re-bandaged.

Update: The Twins scratched Delmon Young, Tsuyoshi Nishioka and Jim Thome from their lineup, but this is almost certainly weather related. Manager Ron Gardenhire often takes extra caution with his regulars when the game is being played on a wet field in spring training.

Update: This game will be delayed. Tarp coming off at noon (Central) and an estimated start time will be given sometime after that.

Update: Hearing the Twins and Blue Jays hope to start at about 1 p.m. (Central).

Update: Twins announce they are targeting a 1:15 p.m. (Central) first pitch.
